Clippert, located in the heart of Southwest Detroit, offers a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum for grades 6-8 to prepare students for entry to the city’s elite high schools. Free transportation is provided for students who live near Bennett, Harms and Roberto Clemente elementary schools.

Admission Requirements
All students should have a “C” or better average in core academic classes, maintain a 2.5 grade point average, attend school regularly and demonstrate excellent-to-satisfactory citizenship.
Guidelines For All Applicants
- A copy of your student’s most recent report card must be submitted with this application. The report card should be from no earlier than the 2024-2025 school year.
- Do not submit more than one application for the same scholar. You may email application.schools@detroitk12.org or use Submittable to send a message to the Admissions Team to request the opportunity to edit or update your application.
- You may save the application in progress and return to make as many changes as necessary prior to submitting it. Please review the application carefully before submitting.
- Applications are accepted online during the application window. Alternately, a paper application packet may be submitted at the school during regular business hours. You will be notified of the admission decision by phone or email. The paper application is also available in Spanish.

Paul Robeson Malcolm X Academy Application 2026-27. Paul Robeson Malcolm X Academy offers high-quality, African-centered learning experiences that are engaging and inquiry-based. We teach scholars personal and civic responsibility while inspiring students to become enthusiastic, confident, and independent learners.
Serving students in grades K–8, our school uses a child-centered approach and a culturally enriched curriculum that highlights the contributions and legacy of African Americans. Through academic excellence and cultural pride, we prepare students to succeed in school and make meaningful contributions to their communities
